A significant development has emerged in the murder case of Dr Sarang in Karachi, as police have taken the deceased doctor’s wife into custody over her alleged involvement in the killing, sources said.
According to officials, Dr Sarang was shot dead near Metro Pole on Shahrah-e-Faisal in Karachi on 21 April, following which investigations were launched from multiple angles.
During the inquiry, evidence and technical data reportedly raised suspicions regarding the victim’s wife, Romina. Further investigations subsequently uncovered alleged evidence of her involvement in the murder.
Sources stated that law enforcement agencies carried out an operation and detained the suspect along with one of her alleged accomplices.
The rent-a-car vehicle believed to have been used in the incident has also been recovered.
Police said that Dr Sarang was travelling in a rickshaw with his wife when the assailants arrived in a vehicle, opened fire, and fled the scene. Investigators believe the attackers had been following the couple prior to the shooting.
Dr Sarang was employed at two separate hospitals located in Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Korangi.
