Drunk cop crashes police mobile van into footpath in Karachi

A police officer, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, lost control of a police mobile van and crashed it into a footpath in Karachi, it emerged on Thursday.

The accident was captured by an eyewitness on video, which quickly went viral on social media.

The footage showed the driver exiting the severely damaged police vehicle, which sustained extensive damage to the front and rear sides.

Another car was also damaged in the accident, struck from behind by the out-of-control police van.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the driver, who was allegedly off-duty policeman, was intoxicated. 

A young boy, whose car was destroyed in the accident, claimed that the driver had lost balance while driving and veered off the road, hitting the footpath.

The man recording the video reported that one person was severely injured in the accident, although no casualties were officially reported.

However, the location of the incident was not disclosed by the man who was filming the accident.
