Eid celebrations were marred by reckless driving and overspeeding, leading to multiple fatal road accidents across the country.

At least 20 people lost their lives, while several others sustained injuries in various incidents.

In Sargodha, a high-speed rickshaw collided with a motorcycle on Salamwali Road, resulting in the deaths of an 8-year-old girl and another person, while five others were injured.

The victims were shifted to the hospital for medical treatment.

In Lahore, a tragic accident occurred at Jinnah Underpass, where a motorcycle crashed into an electric pole, claiming the lives of two young men. Separately, in Renala Khurd, a car-motorcycle collision resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including two women.

In separate motorcycle accidents in Qambar Shahdadkot, Mirpur Sakro, and Hafizabad, eight people lost their lives.

A speeding car plunged into the Nasir Canal, causing the deaths of four young men in Tando Allahyar.

The deceased, identified as Ali Shan, Abdul Hadi, Adeel, and Sameer, were residents of North Karachi, Sector 11-J. Reports indicate that Adeel and his friends were traveling to Mirpur Khas to visit relatives when tragedy struck. Their bodies have since been transported back to Karachi.

A high-speed crash on Club Road in Islamabad between a Toyota HiAce van and a car resulted in the death of one individual, while seven others were injured, including a six-month-old infant.

As road accidents continue to rise during festive holidays, authorities have urged motorists to practice responsible driving and adhere to traffic regulations to prevent further loss of life.
