The harsh realities of poverty, hunger, illness, and domestic hardships have led to tragic outcomes, with five individuals losing their lives in a single day.

A string of heartbreaking incidents unfolded, starting with 17-year-old Prem Bheel, son of Hiro Bhel, who took his life by consuming poison in Vijnoti Thana. Meanwhile, in the village of Sarangho, Islamkot, a young man named Daulat Bheel also passed away under distressing circumstances.

In the village of Koya Lag Mahro, near Nangarparkar, 45-year-old Marwan, wife of Tarachand Kolhi, was found dead after hanging herself at home.

The suffering didn’t end there. In Dhano Dhondhal, near the village of Hiraar Detha, a 24-year-old mother, Harmi, wife of Daulat Meghwar, tragically took her own life by ingesting poison. She left behind a child.

Similarly, in Mithi’s village Amrio, Rahima, daughter of Mubarak Junejo, also consumed poison, ending her life within the confines of her home.

These tragic deaths underscore the ongoing crisis in Thar, where many are pushed to the brink due to extreme socio-economic pressures.

The increasing incidents of suicide in the area have rang the alarm bell for the Sindh government.
