A food delivery rider risked his life to save a young woman from an alleged sexual assault in the Bahria Town Phase 7 area in Rawalpindi.

The incident occurred on Saturday and has been confirmed by authorities and eyewitnesses.

According to information circulating on social media, the rider, identified as Basharat Hussain, who works with Foodpanda, was passing through the area when he heard a woman calling for help.

Responding immediately, he rushed to the scene where, according to his account, two individuals were attempting to assault the victim.

Without hesitation, the rider intervened and tried to protect the woman. He also called for assistance from nearby residents, after which the two suspects were overpowered. They were later handed over to the police, with local citizens also contributing to the effort.

Following the incident, the rider’s actions have been widely praised in the area. Residents said that in situations where many people might remain silent, his response demonstrated exceptional courage.

One local remarked that he not only saved the woman but also proved that ordinary individuals can act heroically in critical moments.

The management of Foodpanda also commended his bravery, awarding him a cash prize and a mobile phone. Meanwhile, members of the public have called for greater protection and facilities for delivery riders, who often face dangerous situations while carrying out their work.
