Khairpur: Girl and her nephew were handed over to the police on physical remand for poisoning 13 family members to death in Khairpur.

As per details, 13 members of the same family were poisoned to death through contaminated food. The suspects, a daughter named Shaista and a nephew named Amir Bakhsh, were presented in the Pir Jo Goth court.

The court handed the suspects over to the police on a four-day physical remand. The accused reportedly mixed poison into flour as an act of revenge after their preferred marriage proposals were denied, resulting in the deaths of 13 family members.

The deceased belonged to the Gul Baig Brohi family, which included Gul Bek, his wife, three sons, five daughters, a brother, a son-in-law, and a relative.

All the deceased were cousins, and the tragedy unfolded after Gul Baig’s family refused Shaista’s marriage proposal.

Bakhsh brought the poison from an outside source, and it was revealed that his own father was also among the deceased.
