Government forms committee to strengthen cybersecurity

The government has constituted a national committee to enhance cybersecurity, focused on neutralizing cyber and communication frameworks.
According to the statement, a new committee named the National Committee for Information and Communication Security has been formed.
However, the main focus of the committee is information and communication security, which means protecting data and information from threats like hacking or cyber-attacks.
Its members include the Director General (Technical) of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), the Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the Director General of the National Cyber Emergency Response Team (NCERT), a former Additional Secretary of the Establishment Division, the Secretary of the National Telecommunication and Information Technology Security Board (NTISB), and the Secretary of the Cabinet Division.
The committee will assess and monitor all the information systems of federal ministries, divisions, and other government organizations for effective security and to mitigate risk.
