Deputy Commissioner South Javed Nabi Khoso has said that details of 30 individuals who lost their lives in the Gul Plaza tragedy were forwarded to the Karachi Commissioner on Tuesday, adding that the compensation cheques are expected to be issued to their families today.

Speaking to Express News, the deputy commissioner said that cases are being processed promptly as soon as bereaved families submit the required documents.

He added that a facilitation desk has been established at the DC South office, where representatives from all relevant departments are present to assist families in completing documentation, ensuring that heirs do not have to visit multiple offices.

According to DC South, Family Registration Certificates (FRCs) of the victims’ families are being verified, and a NADRA mobile van has also been deployed at the DC office.

The verification process aims to ensure that compensation is paid to the rightful legal heirs.

He further stated that the search operation at the Gul Plaza building has been completed.

So far, the number of missing persons has reached 79, while 73 deaths have been confirmed. Identification of 23 victims has been completed, and their remains have been handed over to their families.
