IIC postpones decision on Human Milk Bank

After a lengthy debate on the establishment of a Human Milk Bank, the Islamic Ideological Council has decided to defer the matter.
According to details, the meeting of the Islamic Ideological Council regarding the establishment of the Human Milk Bank ended without a decision.
Doctors briefed the officials of the council on the establishment of the Human Milk Bank, and answers to several questions from the members were also provided.
A private TV report claims, citing sources, that two Islamic countries’ examples regarding the establishment and need for a Human Milk Bank were also presented to the Islamic Ideological Council, highlighting that such banks are already operational in Iran and Malaysia.

According to sources, Allama Syed Iftikhar Naqvi of the Jafri school of thought declared the Human Milk Bank permissible with some conditions and arguments, while other schools of thought demanded more time to deliberate, upon which the officials decided to defer the matter.
Officials stated that further discussion is needed on the matter of the Human Milk Bank. They added that a decision on the establishment of the Human Milk Bank will be made in the next meeting.
