Illegal parking fee collector arrested in Karachi’s Saddar

A member of an illegal parking mafia has been arrested in Karachi’s Saddar area for intimidating the public and collecting parking fees despite an official ban.

As per details, a video went viral last night showing a man forcibly demanding parking fees from a citizen at the Saddar Mobile Market and resorting to bullying when payment was refused.

Police took notice of the footage and arrested the young man, who was charging Rs50 per motorcycle as an illegal parking fee.

A case has been registered against him.

The FIR states that the suspect, along with others, was illegally operating double parking on roads within the Cantonment Board area and unlawfully collecting money from members of the public.

The case was registered at Preedy police station on the complaint of a Cantonment Board contractor, after which police began further investigation.
