The police constable, who had been injured during clashes with the PTI protestors in Islamabad on Saturday, breathed his last at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Sunday.

The spokesman for the Islamabad Police said that Abdul Hameed, who belonged to Abbottabad and was employed at the Investigation Wing, had been shifted to the hospital from Chungi No 26.

He informed that Abdul Hameed, who had been recruited by the capital police in 1988, was due to retire from service after three months.

Earlier, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi revealed that 11 police personnel were also arrested from Islamabad’s D-Chowk on Saturday amid PTI's protest.

Talking to the media, Naqvi said: “CM Gandapur was leading the attack on Islamabad.”

Indiscriminate action will be taken against all the miscreants, including KP CM, involved in the Islamabad attack, he added.
