Islamabad ranked safer than London, NYK, and Moscow in Global Safety Index

Global website Numbeo has released its Safety Index Report for 380 cities worldwide.
According to the report, Islamabad has been ranked as a safer city than London, New York, Oslo, Sydney, Moscow, Toronto, and Barcelona.
The report places Islamabad at the 93rd position among the 380 cities, based on a Safety Index score of 67.9, as stated by police sources.
A spokesperson for Islamabad Police added that the United Nations has designated Islamabad as a family station for its staff.
The spokesperson further noted that the city has seen a 20% reduction in crime rates this year compared to the previous year.

In 2025, incidents of street robbery fell by 19%, theft and burglary decreased by 12% and 74% respectively, vehicle and motorcycle theft dropped by 22%, and murder cases declined by 17%.
Overall, 600 fewer crimes were reported in 2025 compared to 2024.
