Karachi police arrested a suspect from Karachi’s Site Super Highway area, after he was found involved in several robberies at Link Road while posing as a Station House Officer (SHO), said a police official.
The arrest took place after the suspect, along with eight companions, attempted to rob a toll office.
The gang looted all the cash at gunpoint and assaulted a trailer driver by striking him with a gun when he resisted.
The footage obtained from the surveillance camera of the toll office showed at least nine individuals, one of them dressed in a police uniform, arriving at the spot on four motorcycles, entering the office, looting cash, and fleeing.
Raids were being conducted to arrest suspect's accomplices.
