In a tragic turn of events, the Pakpattan police have successfully resolved the case of a missing woman, revealing that her husband, Muhammad Ahmed, was the culprit behind her death.
On December 8, Ahmed allegedly murdered his pregnant wife, Muqadis Bibi, by throwing her into the Pakpattan Canal, where she tragically drowned.
The couple, married for three years and parents to a young son, were expecting their second child.
According to reports, Ahmed took Muqadis for a routine check-up with a gynaecologist, followed by a visit to a pharmacy to collect her medication.
He then suggested a walk along the canal. It was during this walk that Ahmed allegedly pushed his wife into the water, leaving her to drown.
Afterward, he returned home and falsely claimed to his in-laws that Muqadis had gone missing from the pharmacy.
Two days later, Muqadis' brother, Ghulam Mustafa, filed a missing person report.
The police reviewed Safe City surveillance footage, which revealed that Ahmed and Muqadis were seen riding a motorcycle toward Jamal Chowk, but Ahmed returned alone two hours later.
Upon confronting him with the evidence, Ahmed confessed to the crime, stating that he killed Muqadis out of suspicions of infidelity.
The police later recovered Muqadis’ body from the Pakpattan Canal, bringing closure to the case.
