Man arrested in Rawalpindi for running fake UN mission scam targeting politicians

The NCCIA has arrested one man and registered a case against several individuals for allegedly running an online fraud scheme targeting political figures and citizens, impersonating fake official claims.
Muhammad mazhar,son of Muhammad Hanif,contacted the political personalities and MNA leaders claiming that an incoming United Nations delegation, allegedly linked to the Pakistan People’s Party, would be delivering cargo that required tax payments.
According to the FIR, the scammers exploited this story to collect money, convincing people to deposit funds into bank accounts managed by the suspects.
The complainant stated that he, too, was tricked into sending a total of Rs468,500.
Investigation documents reveal several transfers made to a bank account belonging to another suspect, Muhammad Javed, including amounts of Rs264,500, Rs100,000, and another Rs100,000.
