Man dies after poisoning self, three children

FAISALABAD: A 35 year old man is said to have poisoned himself along with his three young children who became unconscious due to the poisoning following his distress over unemployment and domestic misunderstanding, according to the report by the police.

This incident took place in Gulshan Rahim town which falls in the area of Sadar Police station.

According to the police, Azhar Ali, son of Manzoor Ahmad poisoned his three children named Dua Zahra, 12 years, Areej, 9 years, and Esha Fatima, 6 years, using poisonous wheat preservation tablets mixed in the drink he provided to his children.

All of them were rushed to the Civil Hospital due to the critical condition.

While Azhar Ali succumbed to the poison during the treatment, all three children recovered from their condition as reported by hospital and police officials.

DSP Sadar Shahid Gujar, SHO Muhammad Ali Khan and other police officials came to the spot after the occurrence.

After completing legal formalities, police handed the body over to the family.
