Mother dies along with her children while rescuing them from pond

A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in Punjab’s Attock district where a mother lost her life trying to save her two children from drowning in a pond. All three members of the same family perished in the incident.

The sorrowful event occurred in the Purana area of Pindi Gheb, causing grief and shock throughout the local community.

According to initial reports, the two young children accidentally fell into the pond while playing. In a desperate attempt to rescue them, their mother jumped into the water but was unable to save them due to the depth of the pond.

Tragically, all three drowned.

Local police and rescue teams arrived promptly at the scene after being alerted.

The bodies were recovered and shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for necessary formalities.

The incident has cast a shadow of mourning over the area, with residents expressing deep sorrow over the loss of an entire family in a matter of moments.

Seperately, the body of a child who was swept away by flash floods in the Swat River on Friday was found in Charsadda, rescue officials said.

This was the 12th confirmed death from the incident.

According to Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) data, at least 19 people have died and six others have been injured in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to ongoing heavy rainfall, flash floods, and landslides.
