Senior PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique expressed concern over reports that former PM Imran Khan is suffering from deteriorating eyesight.
In a statement posted on social media, Rafique said that safeguarding a prisoner’s health is a fundamental responsibility of the state. He described recurring reports about Khan’s impaired vision as “worrying” and called for immediate medical intervention.
Furthermore, he urged the government and relevant institutions to allow Khan’s relatives to meet him.
Concerns about Khan’s health increased after court proceedings revealed that he has lost most of the vision in his right eye. According to a report submitted to Pakistan’s Supreme Court, Imran said he had only about 15 percent eyesight remaining after suffering a sudden loss of vision linked to a blood clot.
Earlier, a report submitted to the Supreme Court by friend of the court Barrister Salman Safdar has raised concerns about the PTI founder’s health, particularly his eyesight. The report stated that despite treatment, vision in his right eye has deteriorated to 15 percent. It recommended an immediate and comprehensive eye examination.
