A Pakistani-Hindu couple, Sapna and Sanjay, were found dead in their Kharghar residence in Mumbai. The couple had relocated to India in November 2024 in search of a better future. They were discovered by police following a call from their relatives.
Authorities indicated that the initial investigation suggests a grim scenario, with reports stating that Sanjay allegedly stabbed his wife before turning the knife on himself.
Senior Inspector Deepak Surve confirmed that the husband inflicted fatal injuries to his neck and succumbed to his wounds shortly thereafter.
The victim's father expressed his despair over the incident, highlighting his daughter's hope for a prosperous life in India that tragically ended just months after their arrival.

Community leaders, including Mukhi Eshwar Lal of the Hindu Panchayat, have raised concerns about the potential delays in justice and have called for the return of the bodies to Pakistan for the last rites.
They fear that the complexities of the situation may hinder the investigation process.
The incident occurred between 9:00 am and 10:30 am on Monday and was discovered when the couple's younger son returned from school to find no one answering the door.
