In a disturbing incident at a private school in Karachi’s Jamshed Quarters area, a female teacher was allegedly assaulted by a student’s family, which included a serving police official, authorities confirmed on Wednesday.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed at Jamshed Quarters Police Station, the altercation was triggered by a disciplinary measure taken by the teacher, in which a student was briefly made to stand for arriving late.
Two days later, the student’s parents and maternal uncle reportedly visited the school to confront the teacher.
The FIR states that the student’s uncle, who identified himself as the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kalakot Police Station, physically attacked the teacher inside the principal’s office.
The student and both parents allegedly participated in the assault, which also involved manhandling of other female teachers who attempted to intervene.

CCTV footage from the school premises has since surfaced, reportedly showing the suspects attacking the teacher.
Law enforcement has confirmed that one of the accused is an active-duty police officer. The Karachi East Police have initiated departmental proceedings against the officer, while Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East Dr. Farrukh Raza has taken official notice and ordered a full investigation into the matter.
Authorities say video evidence is being reviewed as part of the inquiry, and further legal action is expected.
