The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has concluded its investigation into the alleged data leak, determining that no customer information was compromised from telecom companies.

According to PTA sources, the data circulating online is outdated and appears to have been compiled from various sources rather than directly from telecom operators.

The investigation suggests that citizens’ records were aggregated from multiple channels before being uploaded, possibly to the dark web.

PTA clarified that call detail records (CDRs), travel histories, family trees, and vehicle registration data are not maintained by telecom operators, making it unlikely that such information could have originated from their systems.

The authority emphasized that while fragments of personal information are accessible through different platforms, the comprehensive datasets being circulated do not exist within telecom databases.
