PTI supporters protest in Lodhran against MPA-elect defection

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf supporters protested against the defection of the party's MPA-elect from Lodhran.

In a video shared by PTI's official X, people are seen beating the drum along with the poster of the MPA-elect from PP-225 Lodhran, Shazia Hayat.

PTI-backed independent candidate Shazia Hayat won the Punjab Assembly election from PP-225 Lodharan-I by securing 69,799 votes.

According to the unofficial result issued by the Returning Officer/ECP, her runner-up was Zawar Hussain Warraich of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), who bagged 62,698 votes.

Following the Feb 8 elections, independent candidates are joining various parties to save their membership as they fought as independents after PTI was deprived of its electoral symbol "Bat".
