A teacher has been arrested for allegedly subjecting a 10-year-old student to severe physical abuse for wearing a torn cap at a madrassa.

According to police, Rawalpindi’s Saddar Baroni Police Station carried out swift action and detained the teacher involved in the incident.

The complainant stated that the madrassa teacher beat his son with a plastic pipe for wearing a damaged cap and also wrongfully confined him.

Following the complaint, police registered a case and took the accused into custody.

Police officials added that the affected child has undergone a medical examination.

They emphasised that violence against children is unacceptable under any circumstances, noting that children are the future of the nation and their protection is a collective responsibility.
