Residents of Korangi's Allah Wala Town in Karachi have raised serious concerns over worsening civic conditions, stating that the area has turned into a heap of filth, similar to several other parts of the city.

Dialogue Pakistan team, under its initiative Karachi Aisa Nahi Tha, visited Korangi's Allah Wala Town area, where locals reported that a one-and-a-half kilometre stretch of road remains in a dilapidated condition, causing significant hardship.

A resident claimed he has lived in the area for 15 years, yet no government or political party has undertaken meaningful repair work. While various parties have repeatedly made promises, none have delivered on their commitments.

The situation deteriorates further during rainfall, when the damaged road becomes nearly impassable, making even walking extremely difficult for residents.

In addition to infrastructure issues, the area faces an acute shortage of clean drinking water. Residents say they have attempted to resolve the issue independently, but with little success.

Garbage accumulation has also led to an unbearable stench across the locality, with no visible action from the authorities to address the problem.

The poor road conditions have damaged vehicles, including cars and rickshaws, severely impacting daily commuting and local businesses. Residents say commercial activity has suffered, as customers are reluctant to visit the area due to the lack of proper roads and unhygienic conditions.

Frustrated residents criticised both the Pakistan Peoples Party and the Jamaat-e-Islami, stating that despite repeated assurances, neither has taken concrete action.

The community has demanded immediate intervention, urging authorities to repair roads and ensure the provision of clean drinking water to improve their quality of life.
