The security guard who fatally shot a YouTuber at Serena Mobile Mall in Karachi’s Sakhi Hassan area has claimed illness and denied any deliberate action.
Hamad Gul in his statement said he suffers from dizziness and trembling legs and is currently receiving medical treatment. He insisted that he had no intention of fighting with the victim and is unsure how the shooting happened.
Gul, originally from Khyber Agency, moved to Karachi at a young age and has been employed by Shah Security Company for the past three months. He expressed his regret, emphasizing that he does not know how the gun discharged.
In the meantime, the funeral prayers for the victim, 35-year-old Saad Ahmed, were held today. The service took place at Jamia Masjid Darussalam in Buffer Zone, attended by MQM-P members of the Sindh Assembly, including Jamal Ahmed, Rehan Akram, and Abdul Wasim.
The tragic incident occurred outside Sarina Mobile Mall in Buffer Zone on Tuesday night.
According to police reports, the victim was filming a public opinion vlog about the upcoming Pakistan-India T20I World Cup match. During the recording, the 24-year-old vlogger asked the suspect, Hamad Gul, for his prediction on the game.
The question reportedly angered Gul, who then opened fire on the vlogger, resulting in the fatal shooting.
