Social media reunites woman with family after 16 years of her abduction

A woman who was kidnapped 16 years ago, was reunited with her family after uploading her video on social media.
The victim, identified as Aasia Bibi, was allegedly kidnapped from the Khulana locality of Azad Kashmir in 2008 and was recovered by the Toba Tek Singh police.
Attaullah, a spokesperson to Toba Tek Singh police, said Aasia Bibi was 13 years old when she was abducted by a man, Ghulam Mustafa, hailing from Jhang.
Suspect Mustafa brought her to his city, keeping her in his impressment for two years and later handed her over to an old man, named Allah Yar, a resident of the Toba.
It added Allah Yar contracted marriage with her, and she has been living with him since then.
Following the opportunity to use a smartphone, Aasia recorded and made her video viral where she shared her story of a kidnapping that occurred in 2008, and told her whereabouts as well.
As per the details, someone from her village watched her video and informed her parents.
The matter was brought to the notice of the federal government which directed the Faisalabad police to take action against the suspects involved in the incident.
However, the spokesperson said the police raided the house of Allah Yar recovered Aasia and transported her to the Darul Aman.
According to the police, she will be handed over to the Azad Kashmir police after the order of a judicial magistrate.
Meanwhile, the Allah Yar has been arrested and the police have been raiding to capture the abductor Ghulam Mustafa.
