Upset over birth of another daughter, parents kill two-month-old girl in Mianwali

In Mianwali, a tragic incident occurred in which a two-month-old infant was allegedly killed by her parents.

The infant, named Palwasha, was born just two months ago. The incident took place on Thursday in the Harnoli area. Police officers took the body for post-mortem examination to complete medico-legal formalities.

According to police officials, the couple allegedly drowned the baby in a water tank inside their home. The primary motive behind the crime, as stated by the police, was the parents’ unhappiness over the birth of another daughter.

A murder case has been registered against the parents on behalf of the state, with ASI Syed Anwar of Harnoli Police Station as the complainant.

The police arrested the father, while the mother is on the run. Efforts are underway to locate her.

According to the police, the infant’s father confessed to the crime, admitting that he was responsible for killing the baby. He further told officers that the couple had been hoping for a son and were unhappy with the birth of Palwasha, which led him to commit the act.
