Vehari man murders two daughters for contracting marriage by choice

VEHARI: In a distressing incident, a man with the abetment of his son and brother murdered his two daughters who contracted the marriage of their own free will in Punjab's Vehari.
According to Dunya News report, the girls were living with their husbands in another city and elders of the area after a meeting called them on the assurance that they would not be harmed.
When the girls reached the house of their father for reconciliation, he along with his son and brother gunned down them and fled.
On information, police reached the crime scene and started investigation after shifting the dead bodies to hospital for autopsy.
Police were recording statements from the family members of the deceased girls. Raids were being conducted to arrest culprits.
Separately, a couple who married out of their own freewill was shot dead allegedly by the woman’s brothers in the name of honour in Karachi’s Site Area.
Police said the suspects stormed the couple’s home near the Kulsum Bai Valika Hospital and opened fire on them, killing both on the spot.
The Kiamari Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) said they had tied the knot out of their own freewill some time back. The woman’s family was unhappy with their marriage.
