Punjab police officers violated Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz's restriction on kite flying as a group of cops caught enjoying the dangerous sport in Lahore.

The sport is banned across the country's largest province under the Punjab Prohibition of Kite Flying Ordinance 2001.

The video of the incident also went viral on social media, prompting netizens to question the seriousness of policemen towards the law.

Earlier on March 22, a young boy, named Asif Ashfaque, had lost his life after his throat was slit by a kite string while riding a motorcycle.

However, the suspect, identified as Abid Gujjar, involved in the killing of a 22-year-old was arrested by the police within 48 hours.

Following the harrowing incident, CM Maryam ordered the authorities to take strict action against kite flyers and manufacturers.

But, the Punjab police officers were filmed violating CM Punjab's orders.
