A Punjab police cop, SHO Shafiq Ahmed, was caught on camera physically assaulting an elderly man who was riding his motorcycle and unknowingly crossed the VIP route designated for the cricket team in Multan.
SHO Shafiq, who was stationed at New Multan police station, was suspended by CPO Sadiq Ali Dogar following the incident.
The video, which quickly went viral, sparked outrage on social media, with users criticising the police officer’s harsh treatment of an elderly citizen.
The footage showed the officer thrashing the man from his moving bike as he attempted to pass through the restricted route.

The incident raised concerns over police training, with many questioning the lack of professionalism and ethical conduct among law enforcement officers in Pakistan.
Critics argued that police personnel are not adequately trained in handling citizens with respect.
