In a shocking incident, a woman in Layyah was murdered by her in-laws for delaying cooking food, sources said on Wednesday.

According to the sources, the harrowing incident took place in Kot Sultan village Korywali, Layyah, on July 9.

Several media outlets reported that the suspect Muhammad Yusuf, who is the victim's husband, along with his brothers Muhammad Ejaz, Muhammad Younis, and Nadar tortured Parveen Bibi to death.

A case was registered against the suspects on the complaint of the uncle of the victim, Abdul Majeed.

The first information report (FIR) revealed that the suspects brutally tortured the slain woman with clubs and she became unconscious.

Later, Parveen Bibi shifted from the tehsil headquarters hospital to the district headquarters hospital and then to Nishtar Hospital in Multan in critical condition.

During the treatment, she succumbed to her injuries, reports informed.

However, the suspects are still at large and police are conducting raids to arrest the culprits behind the heinous crime. A special team was also formed to investigate the case.
