FIFA approves Pakistan women’s football team for 2026 series

Pakistan’s women’s football team has been included in the FIFA Series for the first time, marking a significant milestone for the national side and the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF).

In a statement issued on social media platform X, the PFF confirmed that FIFA has formally approved Pakistan’s participation in the upcoming series. The federation described the decision as recognition of the rapid progress being made in women’s football in the country and “the beginning of a new era”.

According to the PFF, the inclusion will provide Pakistani players with opportunities to compete at a higher international level and gain exposure against stronger teams. The FIFA Women’s Series is scheduled to take place in March and April 2026, with events set to be held in Brazil, Ivory Coast and Thailand.

FIFA is expected to announce the full list of groups for the women’s series in early 2026.
