French football star Kylian Mbappe has been accused of raping a woman at a hotel in Sweden, an allegation he has firmly denied, calling it "fabricated."
According to reports, Mbappe was in Sweden from Wednesday to Friday, with the alleged rape incident occurring on Thursday night.
The complaint was filed on Saturday when the victim arrived at the hospital for treatment.
While Swedish police have not released details of the case, the Real Madrid star dismissed the accusations as "fake news."
Mbappe pointed out that the timing of the accusation coincides with a hearing regarding a legal dispute with his former club, Paris Saint-Germain, in which the 25-year-old is seeking £46 million in unpaid wages and bonuses.
"FAKE NEWS!!! It's becoming so predictable, just before the hearing as if by chance," he wrote on X

The 25-year-old athlete had departed from Sweden on Friday but he is currently under investigation for sexual assault, with the alleged incident taking place in central Stockholm.
Swedish newspaper Expressen reported that authorities are investigating Mbappé on "reasonable suspicion" of rape and sexual assault. Under Swedish law, "reasonable suspicion" is the lowest level of suspicion.
He was visiting Sweden with a group of people as he was not participating in national league matches at the time.
Swedish police were spotted outside the hotel where Mbappe and his group were staying. His close associates have condemned the accusations, describing them as an attempt to tarnish his reputation.
