Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam's father, Azam Siddique, has returned to social media to show support for his son after a brief hiatus.
Siddique, two weeks ago, announced his decision to take a break from social media, but Babar's recent exclusion from the Test squad against England prompted his return.
In a heartfelt statement on social media, Mr Siddique expressed optimism about Babar's future with an Urdu couplet.
"Inshallah, soon you will see Babar in action and he will get his form back," he wrote in the post accompanying the father-son duo's picture.
Siddique further clarified that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had given Babar a "chance to rest".
The 28-year-old star player's father also extended gratitude to well-wishers.
"Thank you from the heart to those who love us."
He said that his family remains content with God's will. "We were satisfied with Allah's will, are and will remain."
Earlier, the country's cricket board rested Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, Sarfraz Ahmed, and Shaheen Afridi for the second and third Test matches against England, opting to give young players and domestic performers a chance.
The decision aimed to infuse fresh talent into the team and provide opportunities for emerging cricketers.
