All-rounder Imad Wasim announced his retirement from international cricket on Friday, while confirming his intent to continue playing domestic and franchise cricket.
In a statement shared on social media, the 34-year-old cricketer reflected on his career, describing his time representing Pakistan as an honor and expressing gratitude to fans for their unwavering support.
"Representing Pakistan on the world stage has been the greatest honor of my life, and every moment wearing the green jersey has been unforgettable," Imad wrote. "While this chapter comes to an end, I look forward to continuing my journey in cricket through domestic and franchise formats."
This is the second time Imad has stepped away from international cricket.
In November 2023, he initially announced his retirement but later reversed his decision in March 2024 following discussions with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials. He subsequently participated in the ICC T20I World Cup 2024.
Imad debuted for Pakistan in May 2015 against Zimbabwe and has since played 55 ODIs and 75 T20Is, scoring 1,540 runs and taking 117 wickets.
A key player in Pakistan's cricket history, he was part of the team that won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 and featured in multiple global tournaments, including the 2016 and 2024 T20I World Cups and the 2019 ODI World Cup.
