India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs in a group match of the ICC T20 World Cup at Colombo on Sunday. Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha won the toss and elected to field. Notably, the captains of both sides did not shake hands at the toss.

Batting first, India scored 175 for seven in their allotted 20 overs. Opener Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for a duck in the opening over by Salman Ali Agha, while wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan made 77 off 40 balls before being bowled by Saim Ayub.

In the 15th over, Saim Ayub dismissed Tilak Varma for 25, followed by Hardik Pandya for a duck on the very next ball.

India’s fifth wicket fell at 159 when captain Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed for 32 by Usman Tariq. Other wickets included Dubey (27) and Axar Patel (0).

For Pakistan, Saim Ayub took three wickets, while Usman Tariq, Shaheen Afridi, and Salman Ali Agha claimed one wicket each, with one batter run out.

Pakistan’s playing XI remained unchanged, featuring Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Babar Azam, Salman Ali Agha, Usman Khan, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Abrar Ahmed, and Usman Tariq.

India made two changes to their side, bringing in Abhishek Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav in the playing XI.
