In the wake of the recent Pahalgam attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, Indian authorities have suspended the live streaming of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the country, citing security and political concerns.

According to media reports, Indian sports streaming platform FanCode, which held digital streaming rights for the ongoing 10th edition of the PSL, has removed live broadcasts, video highlights, and related content from its platform.

The decision follows directives reportedly aligned with the Indian government's response to the Pahalgam incident.

The PSL, Pakistan’s premier T20 cricket tournament, began on April 11 and is scheduled to conclude on May 18. FanCode had been broadcasting PSL matches in India prior to the suspension.

Industry insiders suggest that Sony Network, which has broadcast partnerships with various cricketing events in the region, may also take similar steps, although no official announcement has yet been made.

Meanwhile, nationalist sentiment appears to be fueling further backlash, with some far-right groups in India launching boycott campaigns against the Indian Premier League (IPL), criticizing its commercial ties and perceived lack of solidarity with victims of the Pahalgam attack.

The suspension of PSL coverage has once again drawn attention to the increasing politicization of sports in South Asia, with observers raising concerns over the impact of geopolitical tensions on cross-border cultural and sporting exchanges.
