Naqvi says cannot put Saim Ayub’s future at stake for Champions Trophy

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday said that the plaster on batsman Saim Ayub’s foot would be removed in a day or two following which his recovery in the United Kingdom.
Speaking to reporters, he said that Saim was an asset for the national cricket team. “We cannot put the future of this player at stake just for the sake of Champions Trophy.”
He informed he was in touch with the injured cricketer and received updates on his health on a daily basis.
The PCB chairman, however, said that Saim’s recovery will take time.
The left-handed batter is currently in the UK for his rehabilitation following an ankle injury.
The batsman had sustained a right ankle fracture while fielding on the opening day of the second cricket Test against South Africa at Newlands.
