Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in nail-biting first ODI

Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by six runs in the first match of the three-match ODI series at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on Friday, taking a 1–0 lead in the series.
Batting first after losing the toss, Pakistan posted a total of 299 for five in their allotted 50 overs. Agha Salman starred with a brilliant unbeaten 105 off 87 balls, guiding the hosts to a strong finish. Hussain Talat contributed 62 runs, while Mohammad Nawaz added a quick 36 not out from 23 deliveries.
For Sri Lanka, Wanindu Hasaranga was the most successful bowler, taking three wickets.
In reply, Sri Lanka put up a spirited chase but fell short, managing 293 runs before being bowled out. Despite solid contributions from their top order, they could not overcome Pakistan’s total.
The remaining two matches of the ODI series will be played in Rawalpindi, followed by the Tri-Nation Series — featuring Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe — scheduled from November 17 to 29.
