Pakistan women’s cricket team qualified for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 after defeating Thailand by 87 runs in the ongoing World Cup Qualifier.

With this victory, Pakistan extended their unbeaten run in the tournament and secured qualification with a match to spare.

Opting to bat first at the Gaddafi Stadium, Pakistan posted a competitive total of 205/6 in 50 overs. The innings was anchored by opener Sidra Amin and captain Fatima Sana, who both notched up half-centuries.

Amin top-scored with 80 off 105 balls, hitting nine boundaries, while Sana contributed a quickfire unbeaten 62 from 59 deliveries, including six fours and a six.

Their 97-run fifth-wicket stand helped Pakistan recover from 85/4. Thailand’s bowling was led by Thipatcha Putthawong, who claimed two wickets, while Onnicha Kamchomphu and Nattaya Boochatham took one each.

In response, Thailand were bowled out for 118 in 34.4 overs. Wicketkeeper Nannapat Koncharoenkai was the top-scorer with 19 runs, followed by Boochatham (16), Khiaoto (15), and Chantham (13).

Pakistan’s bowlers dominated, with captain Fatima Sana, Nashra Sandhu, and Rameen Shamim each taking three wickets, while Sadia Iqbal picked up one.

The win not only sealed Pakistan’s qualification for the mega event but also propelled them to the top of the points table, displacing Bangladesh, who earlier lost a close match to the West Indies.

Pakistan will play their final group-stage match against Bangladesh on Saturday, having already secured a place in the main tournament.
