India on Saturday defeated Pakistan 2-1 in the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2024 match, played at the Moqi Training Base in Hulunbuir, China.

An early goal by Ahmad Nadeem, assisted by Hannan Shahid's skillful pass, gave Pakistan a promising start.

However, India's Captain Harmanpreet Singh spearheaded a comeback, scoring two consecutive goals to secure a lead for his team.

The match's remaining quarters saw fierce competition, with both teams creating scoring opportunities but failing to convert.

India's unbeaten run in the tournament continued, while Pakistan suffered its first loss.

Notably, Pakistan had previously recorded a 5-1 win over China and defeated Japan in their third game.

The Green Shirts' first two matches against Malaysia and South Korea, respectively, ended in draws.

Despite the loss, both Pakistan and India have qualified for the semi-finals.

However, India have finished the round stage unbeaten and secured the top position on the points table.

The semi-finals are scheduled for September 17 and Pakistan will look to bounce back from this defeat to secure a spot in the final.
