Pakistan to take home hefty prize money despite early Champions Trophy exit

The International Cricket Council (ICC) had announced the prize money for the Champions Trophy 2025 with a 53% increase from the 2017 edition. Despite an early exit from the tournament, the Pakistan cricket team will still receive a hefty amount.
As the Champions Trophy nears its conclusion, teams are fiercely competing for the knockout rounds.
India and New Zealand are set to face off in the semi-final to determine the Group A winner, while South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan are battling for a spot in the Group B semi-finals.

The tournament winner will not only lift the prestigious trophy but also take home a lucrative prize of $2.24 million (approximately 62 crore Pakistani Rupees).
Meanwhile, the runner-up will receive $1.2 million (around 21 crore 11 lakh Pakistani Rupees).
The two semi-finalists will each be awarded $560,000.

Teams finishing fifth and sixth will receive $350,000 each, while those in seventh and eighth place will get $140,000 (approximately 4 crore Pakistani Rupees).
Additionally, all teams participating in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will receive a base amount of $125,000.
Since Pakistan finished in seventh or eighth place, the national team will receive a total of $265,000 ($140,000 + $125,000), which amounts to approximately 15 crore 55 lakh Pakistani Rupees.
