Pakistani athlete Ali Ilyas made history by clinching the first-ever gold medal at the Asian Road Cycling Championship, held in Kazakhstan on Saturday.
The championship, which witnessed intense competition among top Asian cyclists, saw Ali Ilyas showcase his exceptional skills to secure the top spot.
Ali Ilyas demonstrated exceptional skill and technique to claim the top spot on the podium.
The achievement was a proud moment for Pakistan, as the cyclist, who is affiliated with Sui Southern Gas Company, had also won a silver medal in the Masters category last year.
The 8-member national cycling team, including Ali Ilyas, Amjad Khalil, Abdul Wahab, Muhammad Ismail Anwar, Nisar Ali, Shayan Rizwan, Danish Naseem, and Atif Hussain Qazi, is participating in various events of the championship, which will conclude on June 12.
National Cycling Federation President Syed Azhar Ali will represent Pakistan in the Asian Cycling Federation Congress meeting, being held on the sidelines of the championship.
