Pakistani squash players showcased their growing strength on the international stage as four players clinched titles at the Australian Junior Open Squash Championship in multiple age categories.

Notably, three sisters from Peshawar, popularly known as the Ali Sisters, made a strong impact in the tournament, with two of them winning titles and the third narrowly missing out in a hard-fought final.

In the Girls’ Under-13 final, Mahnoor Ali defeated Australia’s Rio Kawabata in straight sets, 11-2, 11-5, 11-6.

Her elder sister, Mehwish Ali, dominated the Girls’ Under-17 final, beating Eden-Alma Poulava 11-5, 11-5, 11-7 in just 12 minutes.

Their sister, Sehrish Ali, competed in the Girls’ Under-15 final and delivered a valiant performance but narrowly lost to Emily Senior after a thrilling five-set match: 13-15, 11-5, 10-12, 11-6, 4-11.

In the boys’ category, Azan Ali Khan secured the Under-17 title with a convincing 3-0 win over Henry Kross, while Ahmed Ali Naz claimed the Boys’ Under-11 title by defeating Freddie Goldsmith.

Had Sehrish won her final, Pakistan could have swept five titles in total.

The Ali Sisters set a tournament record by all reaching their respective finals and winning their matches without losing a single game on their way to the final.
