Following Arshad Nadeem's groundbreaking victory at the Paris Olympics, prominent figures announced multiple rewards for the star athlete, who brought honor to Pakistan by winning the first-ever gold medal in 40 years.

The Pakistani javelin thrower shattered the Olympic record with a monumental 92.97-meter throw in the men's javelin throw event in the Summer Games.

Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab extended heartfelt congratulations to the nation and announced a Rs50 million reward from the Sindh government for Nadeem's extraordinary achievement.

"Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) will establish Arshad Nadeem Athletics Academy in Karachi," he added.

Governor Sindh, Kamran Tessori, had earlier pledged a Rs1 million cash prize and an iPhone 15 for the national star.

Tessori pledged to Arshad that when he returns after his historic Olympic victory, he will welcome him at the Governor House with a special gathering in his honor "for bringing pride to Pakistan."

Renowned singer Ali Zafar offered a Rs1 million cash prize and urged the government of Pakistan “to welcome him like a hero and establish a sports academy in his name.”

Mayor Sukkur added to the accolades by naming an under-construction stadium after the Olympic champion.

Business tycoon Salman Iqbal announced a luxurious apartment from his residential project.

Nadeem's victory marks a watershed moment for Pakistani sports. His gold medal marks the nation's first-ever individual and track-and-field Olympic medal.

Moreover, he is only the second South Asian athlete to stand on the podium in this sport.

The last time Pakistan stood on an Olympic podium was in 1992 when the hockey team clinched bronze at the Barcelona Olympics. Pakistan's first-ever Olympic gold medal was also won by the hockey team in 1984.
