Former national captain Shahid Afridi said that sports is the only way remaining to restore bilateral relations between Pakistan and India.

He made the remarks while addressing the media in the port city.

"Cricket is the biggest tool to bring people closer, sports is the only way forward to mend ties between Pakistan and India. We visited India despite our reservations," the 47-year-old cricketer said.

Giving advice to skipper Babar Azam, Afridi said that a good captain takes important decisions in difficult times.

"We want Babar to become a great captain as much as he is a great player," he added.

Expressing shock over Mohammad Wasim Jr's expulsion from the T20 squad, Boom Boom said that the cricket body "kept him for so long and now dropped him".

"All these players have been playing for a long time, their job now is to do well in the World Cup," the former all-rounder expressed hope with the Babar Azam-led team.
