The wife of Salman Ali Agha has condemned online harassment following Pakistan’s defeat to England national cricket team in the Super Eight stage of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, urging supporters not to target players’ families.
Hours after England’s victory, which dented Pakistan’s semi-final hopes, she posted a message on Instagram criticising abusive messages directed at her and her child.
“Sending me or my innocent son abuse is not going to win you the World Cup Pakistani fans,” she wrote.
Pakistan’s loss triggered widespread criticism on social media, with many users questioning the team’s performance and Agha’s captaincy.
While online backlash following high-profile defeats is common, some posts reportedly included personal insults and threats aimed at his family.
Her statement drew attention to concerns over the harassment of players’ relatives during major tournaments. Some social media users allegedly circulated her account details and posted derogatory comments.

Speaking after the match, Salman Ali Agha said Pakistan had fallen short in the closing stages of their innings and acknowledged England’s performance. He credited England captain Harry Brook for his decisive knock.
Pakistan had set England a target of 165 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Brook scored 100 off 51 balls, including four sixes and 10 boundaries, helping England complete the chase.
Despite the setback, Pakistan remain in contention for a semi-final place. To progress, they must defeat Sri Lanka in their final Super Eight match and rely on other results to move in their favour.
