Following the Green Shirts' defeat to India in the T20 World Cup match, Legendary cricketer Wasim Akram has demanded the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to make changes in the national team.

Akram's remarks were shared by sports journalist Farid Khan on his microblogging site account.

"These players have taken Pakistan cricket for granted. I want to support this team, but it's getting embarrassing now. We need to get rid of this lot, and bring in new players. They think they can't be replaced," the journalist said quoting Akram in a post.

In an interview with an Indian sports channel, Sultan of Swing expressed his frustration over Pakistan's loss and called to bring new talent in the team.

“Pakistani players think that if they don’t perform well, the coaches will be sacked, and nothing will happen to them. It is time to keep the coaches and change the entire team,” he said.

Criticising Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Rizwan, Akram said said that they don't have game awareness.

“Iftikhar Ahmed knows one shot on the leg side. He has been a part of the team for years but doesn’t know how to bat. I can’t go and tell about the game awareness to Fakhar Zaman," Akram said.

"They have been playing cricket for 10 years, and I can’t teach them. Rizwan has no game awareness. He should have known that Bumrah was given the ball to take wickets and that the wise thing would have been to play his deliveries cautiously. But Rizwan went for a big shot and lost his wicket.”

India defeated Pakistan by six runs in a low-score match at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Sunday night.

Babar Azam invited Rohit Sharma to bat first after winning the toss in the high-voltage match.

Pakistan bowlers restricted Blue Shirts at 119 runs, the lowest target made by team India in the mega event.

However, the Pakistan team couldn't manage to chase the knee-high target and lost the match to India. Pakistan ended their innings at 113-7 in 20 overs.
