Demonstrators in Iran burned large statues depicting “Baal” during state-organized rallies marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
According to footage circulating on social media, protesters were seen setting fire to horned statues labelled “Baal” and marked with the Star of David while chanting anti-Israel and anti-US slogans.
The rallies, held in multiple Iranian cities including Tehran and Isfahan, were reportedly organized to honor the 1979 Islamic revolution. The rallies were portrayed by Iranian state media as demonstrations of unity against apparent foreign rivals.
According to reports, some statues also displayed images of foreign leaders and symbols linked to Western countries, highlighting the strong political message behind the demonstration.
Some posts on social media claimed Israeli officials described the act as a “signal of war,” but no credible statements from the Israeli government or prime minister confirming such a declaration have been found yet.
