Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was arrested in the United States on Monday, according to reports.

His arrest follows efforts by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch to initiate his extradition to India. A non-bailable arrest warrant had been issued for Anmol by a Maharashtra court in connection with several high-profile criminal cases.

The 50-year-old Anmol is a key suspect in the shooting incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence in April and is also accused of playing a significant role in the 2022 murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.

The murder occurred just months after Anmol was released on bail from Jodhpur prison, where he had been serving time for involvement in multiple criminal activities.

In addition to the Moosewala case, Anmol is believed to have been linked to the killing of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique in August 2024.

Investigators have alleged that he provided both financial and logistical support for the attack. Despite being abroad, authorities claim that Anmol maintained contact with the gunmen involved via Snapchat.

Anmol Bishnoi is currently facing 18 criminal cases in India, and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for information leading to his capture.

Authorities allege that he has been involved in planning attacks on various Bollywood figures.

Following Moosewala’s death, Anmol went into hiding, and it is believed that he fled India using a fake passport.

Although his exact location was unclear, reports indicated that he may have been managing the Bishnoi gang’s operations from Canada.

Some sources also claimed he was seen in Kenya last year and has since relocated multiple times.

Both Anmol and Lawrence Bishnoi were named in a 2022 FIR filed by the NIA, which alleges that they were involved in a conspiracy to raise funds, recruit youths for terrorist activities, and carry out targeted killings across India, including in Delhi and other regions.
